2025 SPRING FREESTYLE SESSION FOR GRADES K-8, ALL SKILL LEVELS

This session is a great opportunity for our winter wrestlers to continue progressing in wrestling through participation in the local Freestyle season. New wrestlers may also join! This session is appropriate for all skill levels in grades K-8 who would like to learn Freestyle wrestling (if not grade K yet, should be 5 years old by session start). Curriculum will include Freestyle wrestling instruction, fun games, live wrestling and opportunities to compete in local tournaments.

Coach: Mike Gardner

About Coach Mike Gardner: Coach Mike is a co-founder of Petaluma Wrestling Club and the current executive director. Mike was a high school wrestler who later served as the head wrestling coach for Terra Linda High School for 7 years. His coaching accomplishments at Terra Linda led him to be inducted into the Marin County Athletic Hall of Fame in 2014. He has been coaching for PWC since 2019. Coach Mike has a passion for growing youth wrestling and is very effective at teaching technique while also making sure the wrestlers have a lot of fun.

Session Dates: March 17-April 19 

Practice Schedule: Wednesdays, 5-6pm and Saturdays, 9-10:30am

Practice Location: Petaluma Fairgrounds, Exhibition Hall

Tournaments: We plan to attend 2-3 local tournaments which are optional for wrestlers. The scheduled is still being developed, and we will share it when it is available.

Cost: $75 *a USA Wrestling Membership purchased through USA Wrestling is required to participate
