2026 Fall PWC Black - Upper Elem/Junior High 

 

For the fourth year in a row Petaluma Wrestling Club is putting together a small, competitive fall team called PWC Black to advance the Folkstyle wrestling skills of dedicated local athletes in grades 5-8. Please read the information below carefully to determine if your wrestler would be a good fit.

Eligibility: PWC Black Team wrestlers should:

• Be enrolled in grades 5-8 during the 2026/2027 School Year. 
• Have a significant amount of wrestling experience with PWC or another wrestling club and competition experience.
• Prioritize wrestling over other sports and activities during the fall season. Athletes must plan to attend 90% or more of the practices and all tournmanets. We are asking for a higher level of commitment in part to assure that there are an adequate number of practice partners. Additionally, practices will have scope and sequence and cover technique that builds upon itself. It is our experience that wrestlers who attend practices consistently see the most advancement in their wrestling skills.
• Practices will move faster, be more technical, and require hard work.  Please ensure your athlete is up to a higher level of practice.

Swag and Participant Fees:

• The enrollment fee ($175) will include a special PWC Black shirt. Singlets are a separate cost and a team store will opened at the beginning of the session so they can be purchased. The singlet is the same as last year’s PWC standard navy blue and white - we aspire for those who have already purchased a singlet to have a trade in option when a new size is needed.
• A current USA Wrestling Athlete Membership (paid separately to USA Wrestling) is required. The new membership year starts September 2026.

Families should email petalumawc@gmail.com if scholarship funds would be needed to participate. No one is ever turned away from PWC for financial hardship.

Practice Days:  Tuesdays and Thursdays

Tournaments: We expect to attend at least two competitive tournaments in Northern California.  Details to be released via WrestlingIQ
